RE: Mrs. Tara Kochie, Paraprofessional Peer Support Training Certificate Holder

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - April 27, 2023

Oakville, Ontario – The Find Yourself Foundation is thrilled to announce that our Program Facilitator, Mrs. Tara Kochie, has successfully completed all three levels of The National Para Support Team (“NPST”) Paraprofessional Peer Support Training Program. Sponsored by the Atlas Institute for Veterans and Families, this program is exclusively available to veterans and is led by Veterans Transition Network (“VTN”) clinicians.

As an organization dedicated to promoting wellness, support, and ongoing recovery in our communities, we are immensely proud and privileged to have Tara as an integral part of our organization. Her newly acquired paraprofessional peer support skills will further enhance our ability to fulfill our mission and provide even more exceptional programs to those in need.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Atlas Institute for Veterans and Families for sponsoring the NPST Paraprofessional Peer Support Training Program, as well as to all VTN clinicians, staff, and mentors for their dedication and expertise in providing such an outstanding training platform.

Please join us in congratulating Tara on this outstanding accomplishment. We are excited to continue working together to improve the lives of those in our community.

About Veterans Transition Network (https://vtncanada.org/)

Since its inception, the Veterans Transition Program has maintained the belief that soldiers are best served by other soldiers. The researchers found that many of the veterans they worked with were reluctant to participate in programs or access resources that were provided by the government or military, for fear that their information would not be kept confidential. Many veterans fear the consequences an operational-stress injury could have on their military record and future career prospects. Thus, it was important to ensure in the expansion of the VTP that this confidentiality was protected, and that though grants were sought to enable the growth of the program, the Veterans Transition Network (VTN) would remain an independent organization.

Now, the VTN is working on expanding its borders. To date, the VTP has helped over 1,500 veterans in 9 provinces, and continues to grow. In addition to our original program, we have provided services to RCMP officers, female Veterans, and bilingual French/English speakers.
